2 Bedroom Apartment Renovation by Essence Interiors
CLIENT: A Single, professional female, who has lived in and owned the property for some time, who wanted to use her equity, to fund a renovation.

APARTMENT: Approximately 65m2 of space, ground floor, two bedroom apartment with internal laundry in bathroom and separate w/c. The apartment is in a small group of  about 20, located in an inner city suburb of Perth.

BRIEF: The client found Essence Interiors, on the internet. She saw photos of a renovation on the website, and decided to contact us. She was very clear about what she wanted and had already organised a budget of $35,000 for the entire job.
REQUIREMENTS: The owner requested a brand new kitchen with all new appliances, to make better use of a tiny kitchen space. The bathroom was to be completely gutted and the layout changed entirely, to accommodate a luxurious deep bath, with shower over, a large vanity and drawers, extra tall storage space and laundry space, complete with new toilet suite. The window was to be removed and replaced with glass block. The entire apartment was painted, including all doors and skirtings ( which were previously dark wood.) The new colour scheme tied in with the owner’s existing furnishings and lightened up the whole area. The old carpet was removed and a brand new Formica Timber laminate floor was installed throughout all rooms. Finally the light fittings were updated and blinds and curtains were sourced.

RESULTS: What a huge difference it has made to this once dark and poky apartment! Now it seems to have trebled in size, with a brand new, lighter colour scheme, banishing the old wooden frames and dark wood doors. Let there be light! The sparkling new Castille Oak flooring gleams and leads the eye to other rooms, giving a greater sense of space. The bathroom, once a jumbled mess, is now a smart retreat for a busy female, equipped with long bathtub for luxurious soaking, a brand new set of vanity cabinets, deluxe shower on a rail and gleaming white glossy tiles on the wall, teamed with mushroom matt tiles on the floor, and modern mosaics used to decorate the bath and vanity area.

In the kitchen, every inch of storage space was used to create a more functional kitchen, with new cooktop, oven and pull out range in stainless steel, and a much desired dishwasher under the bench. The client wanted a pull out pantry- which has utilised limited space, and a smaller sink, ensured there was more bench preparation space. The smart colours of Stainless Steel  laminate doors coupled with White speckled bench tops, and glossy white splashback tiles- gives the kitchen a slick and modern edge. One of the tiniest kitchens I’d ever seen, is now one of the funkiest!

CLIENT FEEDBACK: Since seeing her completed job, the owner has been on cloud 9, and cannot believe the change it has made. She loves the new kitchen and has a new found desire to entertain friends!! The bathroom is her favourite because, she always wanted a bath tub, and now with so much more space and storage, she can put away all the gadgets and bottles that used to clutter up her life!! Just take a look at a before shot to see how messy this once dysfunctional bathroom was! The client can’t wipe the smile off her face and just keeps repeating to me- I love it, I love it!! She is one happy customer.
