Press ReleaseINTERIOR DESIGN DISCOVERY TOURS
If you've ever come home with a car load of homewares and furniture that looked great in the store but did nothing for your living spaces, an interior design discovery tour might be the best spent half day of your year!! "There is a knack to knowing not only what looks good on the shelf, but what will complement and update your interior" said Simone Gillespie, interior decorator and one of the 4 Grand Design Divas, who are running weekly morning and afternoon, 4 hour walking tours, every Saturday morning and afternoon from August 6, 2011. The tours will continue to run until November at this stage. Perth interiors' experts; Nehal Seth, Jenny Herbert and Raelene Lovick, have re-started the extremely popular interior design tours around Perth's best stores and Design Suburbs. "If you struggle to find a bargain or you need help to pulling a look together, a tour can teach you the tricks of the trade and save you some costly mistakes." Nehal Seth says.
"We can also help you pull out the best of the latest trends and show you how to integrate them with the existing look in your home" said Jenny Herbert. The half- day walking tours, of Perth's best interior design stores also include a show bag with gifts, vouchers, giveaways, info, magazines, offers and tips of the trade, a one on one consultation, and of course morning or afternoon tea. "It's a great tour to do with your partner, your mum or a bunch of like minded mates - it's not just great fun but very informative too ... not to mention the yummy cakes at the coffee stop, show bags and giveaways." Raelene Lovick enthused. The First 2 tours will be leaving from Mt Hawthorn on: Saturday AUGUST 6TH AT 9AM and at 1PM and you can contact our BOOKINGS OFFICER NEHAL SETH ON 0431089599 OR OUR PUBLICITY MANAGER SIMONE GILLESPIE ON 0411348761, OR EMAIL : nehalmitesh@gmail.com with your booking details - why not also enquire about setting up a private tour? REMOTE RENOVATIONS PACKAGE FOR FIFO, MINING, OVERSEAS AND 'ABSENT' CLIENTS We would love to get going an article about our latest ESSENCE service offering- our latest UNIQUE home renovation package, called our "Remote Renovations" package. What is it? This renovations package is specifically tailored to those FIFO workers, mine site workers, overseas expats, overseas investors and 'absent' property owners; of which there are loads of in Perth, due to our remote location, vast state and the recent and on-going mining and resources boom. We find that those who are working in the mining/ resources industry are benefiting from all the advantages and the trimmings of high incomes and extra disposable cash- but they are frustrated by having no time on their R & R, to source products, find trades, be available for quotes and get any work done to their properties, especially while they are on rosters working on a mine, or off shore drilling. We have come up with the home renovator's Remedy for that very conundrum; ' of how to renovate when you are 'absent' most of the time.......???' How does it work? Read on........ It is basically a non- face to face consult and report package for those wanting to do a renovation 'remotely'. ( As in: they are not present or don't plan to be present for the whole renovation.) How is this done? ESSENCE makes it so, so Easy! By phone, fax, email, internet, digital photos and electronic media- initially we aim to present products, materials and our recommendations to the client by making an initial site visit and a full report. The package is to ascertain what needs work in the property, what are the main priorities in the renovations process, where to spend and Not to Spend? and where and what the 'ball park' budget might be. The ins and outs of the renovation process are communicated and discussed in detail before the client signs up for the project management of their renovation. The renovations are then project managed by Essence using our project management fee (percentage) and fully signed contract of works. This is all done by non face to face communications, mail, internet banking and choosing products by on line websites and catalogues. Clients are sent daily digital images of the works in progress and they are given an emailed update of. Estimated and Actual costs as all trades are paid. They are kept up to date with emailed progress reports and they may be as involved in the process as they choose to be; or not involved at all. All budgets and tastes are catered for and the whole process is professional, detailed, financially tracked on MYOB and supervision is at all times, meticulous. ( Check our testimonials on line). One recent client said, " I was living in Singapore and had no control over anything that was happening on- site in Perth, but Simone put me at ease with the regular photos she sent of the tradesmen at work and the before and after shots she sent through. I felt totally at ease, knowing my hard earned money was in good hands with an experienced and professional team." For people who are away a lot, on long rotation rosters of 26 days on and 9 days off, or one month on and one off- this sort of package is going to be invaluable to those property investors and owners of Perth investment properties. Especially those who fly in and out and who are 'absent' most of the time and have issues with being available on their R+R, for quotes for their renovations. We can handle the whole thing from start to finish, including the preliminary decisions on finishes and colour, budget constraints and before shots- right thru to quoting, on site project management of our trusted tradesmen, materials purchases, trade discounts, delivery to site and even the post renovation clean ups. So theoretically, you can be working for Chevron at the Gorgon Project site in Remote Barrow Island and still manage to renovate your new riverside apartment- without even having to meet with us, visit the site or even lift a finger!! Amazing!! We think so! Now that's a service worth its weight in 'Kalgoorlie gold' surely? Excuse the pun? So for all the miners, drillers, off shore workers and overseas ex pats out there- your wishes are granted. Home renovations done quickly, (2-3 weeks usually)professionally and with high end quality assured - without needing your input or your presence! Wow what a great idea! For more info on the package go to the website www.essenceinteriors.com.au And click on the rates pages. There are before and after photos that show some examples in our photo gallery and many testimonials from happy clients. An article featured in the Sunday Times property section recently, reports a surge in mining and resources driven property investment and home improvement/ renovations which is set to increase and continue for years to come, as long as the mining resource Boom sustains it. So we think this offering is particularly relevant to West Australians, in particular; Those working in mining, resources and overseas postings. We have a video of our latest 'remote reno' client; a Gorgon FIFO client, explaining her situation . Lynne Rout is going to renovate with us this February and we can show how the process goes step by step, with video footage posted to our blog as the renovations progress. Interioressence@blogspot.com PRESS RELEASE FOR LATEST BATHROOM RENOVATIONS PROJECT BY ESSENCE INTERIORS. Please see the new photos attached of our latest exciting and gorgeous renovation project. PROJECT; SOUTH PERTH , OLDER STYLE RENOVATED 1940'S HOME WITH CITY VIEWS, : SINGLE DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM- FULL RENOVATION OF ART DECO ERA BATHROOM (IN ORIGINAL STATE- NO TOILET IN BATHROOM.) BATH WAS TO BE RETAINED (BUT HAS BEEN RE ENAMELLED.) CHANDELEIR IS THE OWNERS OWN FITTING (ALREADY IN PLACE.) THE HOME HAD BEEN EXTENSIVELY RENOVATED IN STAGES, LEAVING ONLY THIS GROUND FLOOR BATHROOM IN ITS ORIGINAL STATE. THE OWNERS ARE A PROFESSIONAL FAMILY OF 4 , PARENTS, A NEWS JOURNALIST AND A ADVERTISING EXECUTIVE, LIVING AT HOME WITH 2 GROWN CHILDREN. SCOPE OF WORKS: THE SHOWER WALL WAS BRICKED IN WITH BLACK WALL TILES AND LOOKED CLOSED IN AND VERY DARK. THIS WALL REQUIRED DEMOLITION. THE BATH WAS IN GOOD CONDITION AND WE DECIDED TO RETAIN IT AND RE ENAMEL IT. THERE WERE NO SCREENS ONLY A SHOWER CURTAIN. NEW SCREENS WERE FITTED. THERE WAS A SINGLE PINK PEDASTAL WITH NO STORAGE, SO A NEW VANITY WAS REQUIRED AND A BIGGER LIGHT ABOVE THE WINDOW/MIRROR. THE WINDOW HAD BEEN BOARDED UP AND THE INSIDE FRAME WAS BEING USED AS SHELF SPACE WITH A TINY MIRROR. THERE WERE SMALL MOSAICS ON THE FLOOR AND BLACK WALL TILES. THE OWNER HAD PUT A FAVOURITE CHANDELEIR IN THE CENTRE TO TRY AND LIFT THE BATHROOM SOME TIME EARLIER. THE ROOM HAS NO NATURAL VENTILATION SO A NEW STRONGER EXHAUST FAN WAS NEEDED TO BE FITTED AND A NEW POWER POINT. ALL WALLS REQUIRED A NEW PAINT JOB AND IT WAS SUGGESTED TO DO ONE WALL AS A FEATURE IN DULUX METALLIC PAINT ( WALL OVER BATH). THIS WAS DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL WITH SPRAY EQUIPMENT. THE DULUX COLOUR USED IS "MOON MARVEL" , HOWEVER THE WALLS WERE OLD, MEANING THE PREPARATION TO MAKE THE WALLS SMOOTH ,WAS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE, AS THIS PARTICULAR PAINT SHOWS EVERY IMPERFECTION IN THE PLASTERWORK. TIME FRAME TO FINISH: BUDGET: ONLY $11,000 FOR ALL MATERIALS, TILES, VANITY TAPS ETC AND ALL LABOUR, ( NOT INCLUDING INTERIOR DESIGNERS FEE WHICH IS ON TOP ) MATERIALS USED: VANITY, BASIN AND TAPWARE ALL BOUGHT AT THE BATHROOM OUTLET, HECTOR ST OSBORNE PARK. TILES; WALL AND FLOOR TILE BOUGHT AT CROSBY TILES AND WHITE AND SILVER FEATURE TILE, BY OSBORNE CERAMICS SHOWER FITTING ON A RAIL BY BERRI’S PLUMBTEC, FLOOR WASTE WITH TILE INSERT ALSO. SHOWER SCREEN AND MIRROR BY COOLING BROTHERS GLASS LIGHT FITTINGS BOTH BY HS REFLECTIONS MALAGA ACCESSSORIES BY BATHROOM OUTLET AND CLEVER BATHROOMS ( TOWEL RACK OVER BATH) RE- ENAMEL OF BATH BY BATHROOM RESURFACING. ( CONTACT JIM ON 0421933812) SILVER METALLIC PAINT IS METALLIC EFFECT, ‘MOON MARVEL’ BY DULUX- APPLIED USING SPRAY METHOD, BY TREVOR MOORE PAINTING. PLUMBERS BY WEMBLEY PLUMBING. ELECTRICAL BY WHITEHALL ELECTRICS. TILING TONY RAVI. THE BRIEF: THE OWNER WANTED A 'NEW LOOK' FOR THIS GRAND OLD BATHROOM, EVEN THOUGH SHE QUITE LIKED THE OLD ART DECO STYLE OF THE ROOM AND THE OLD 'PINK AND BLACK' COLOUR SCHEME................IT WAS QUITE A CLASSIC AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE ( CIRCA 1940'S). THE REST OF THE HOUSE HAD BEEN RENOVATED IN STAGES OVER THE YEARS AND THIS WAS THE ONLY REMAINING ORIGINAL ROOM ( BATHROOM.) THE CLIENT FELT IT NEEDED LIGHTENING UP AND A BIT MORE 'SOPHISTICATION', AS IT WAS TO BE USED AS THE GUEST BATHROOM, ATTACHED TO 2 SPARE ROOMS DOWNSTAIRS. THE OWNER DESCRIBED TO ME AN ALL WHITE SCHEME SHE HAD IMAGINED, WITH A BIT OF AN EARTHIER COLOURED SANDSTONE FLOORING AND A FAIR BIT OF DECORATIVE BLING IN THE FEATURE TILE AND FEATURE WALL. SHE WANTED A LARGE MIRROR TO REPLACE AN OLD WINDOW AND A LARGE VANITY FOR MORE STORAGE OF ITEMS UNDERNEATH. WE CHOSE A MOSAIC GLASS AND MARBLE FEATURE TILE, WITH STRIPS OF SILVER, TO ADORN THE WHITE TILED WALL. THIS WAS TO GO VERTICALLY UP THE SIDE WALLS AND ON THE BATH RISER. A NEW VANITY WITH GLOSS WHITE DOORS AND A STONE BENCHTOP WITH A SPECKLE MIRROR FINISH AND A TOP MOUNTED LARGE RECTANGULAR BASIN VESSEL, WITH ROUNDED EDGES, WAS CHOSEN TO FIT THE 1200 WIDE SPACE LEFT BY THE OLD PEDASTAL BASIN. ALL NEW TAPS WERE CHOSEN FROM THE SAME BUDGET SUPPLIER. ( THE VANITY WAS UNDER $1000.) WE ADDED A NEW SLEEK AND MUCH LARGER OVERHEAD LIGHT OVER A BRAND NEW, LARGE RECTANGULAR, BEVEL EDGE MIRROR TO MAKE THE BATHROOM APPEAR BIGGER AND BRIGHTER. THE FINISHING TOUCH WAS THE CHANDELIER WHICH REMAINED AS CENTREPIECE AND THE ACCESSORIES BOUGHT AT BATHROOM OUTLET, WHICH MATCH THE SQUARE LINES OF THE TAPWARE. THE CHROME FINISH OF THESE ACCESSORIES, TIED IN WELL WITH THE NEW MIRROR AND THE SILVER STRIP IN THE WALL MOSAIC. SO TO FINISH OFF- A SINGLE WALL WAS TO PAINTED WITH A METALLIC FINISH TO TIE IN WITH THE 'SILVER GLAMOUR' THEME AND SO WE CHOSE DULUX METALLICS IN ‘MOON MARVEL’ FOR THIS AND IT WAS SPRAYED ON THE PREPARED WALL, BY PROFESSIONAL PAINTER TO GREAT EFFECT. THE PAINTED METALLIC WALL ADDS AN EXTRA SPOT OF GLAMOUR TO THE BATHROOM AND THE LIGHT FROM THE CHANDELIER, WHEN IT HITS THE METALLIC WALL, MAKES IT 'SHIMMER'. THE RESULT? A GLAMOUROUS MAKE OVER FOR A GRAND OLD LADY BATHROOM FROM THE 40'S - ONE THAT HAS GIVEN IT A COMPLETE NEW LIGHT & BRIGHT LOOK, BUT HAS RETAINED ALL THE CHARM AND SOPHISTICATION OF THE ORIGINAL ERA IT WHICH IT WAS MADE.........AN 'ART DECO' TAKE ON A VERY MODERN COLOUR SCHEME. THE OWNERS WERE DELIGHTED. |
